The Church championing the Family - The Family championing the Church

Family Ministry Philosophy

Our worship at Harbins integrates the whole family, and our Bible studies are designed to supplement, not supplant, the God-given responsibility for parents to be the primary evangelizers and disciplers of their children. But we also know that the Bible teaches that the natural, nuclear family is temporal while the family of God (the church) is eternal, and thus the responsibility to spread God's truth to the next generation is shared by the whole congregation.

Sunday Gatherings

We believe that God's Word has something to say to everyone who comes to church, even kids! We want your kids to sit under the preaching of the Word and learn the same truths that God has for parents.

Our gatherings are welcoming to families and squirmy little ones! We provide a "Kid's Notes" section of our bulletin for kids to follow along with the sermon. We also have a nursery from ages birth-3. Our nursery uses a Planning Center check-in system and with volunteers with background checks. We also provide a livestream of the service in a "Nursing Mother's Room."

Sunday School

We believe that parents have the main responsibility of teaching their kids and raising them in the Lord. We aid parents in this task by providing age-appropriate Sunday School material which focuses on teaching the whole story of the Bible and making Gospel Application.

During our Sunday School Hour (9:30-10:30 AM, Sundays), kids and youth can participate in age-appropriate Sunday School classes throughout the building. Most of our Sunday School classes meet downstairs classrooms.

We often offer different events for kids to have fun and enjoy fellowship with one another throughout the year. We have special events and midweek classes throughout the year for kids. Keep an eye on our calendar for ways to get plugged in!
